The Progress Association’s blog has been building since 2009, an extension of the Coal Point Chronicle which has been circulating throughout the community since 1980. This online space provides a starting point for community communication and collaboration.

The Coal Point Progress Association was established in 1946. It is a not for profit community group and registered charity. Monthly meetings are held 3:30-5:30pm on the second Monday of the odd months at Progress Hall, 197 Skye Point Road, Coal Point, or online via Zoom. All members are welcome. Objectives of the Association

a) To enhance the natural environment of the Coal Point peninsula and surrounding areas by protecting, preserving and regenerating habitat for indigenous flora and fauna.

b) To advance social welfare, community spirit and sustainability in the Coal Point and surrounding area through community education and engagement.

c) To acquire and maintain such property as will enable the association to carry out its objectives most efficiently.

d) To do all such other things as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of any of the above objectives.

Join In and Join Up

Becoming a member of the CPPA shows your support for the projects we undertake on behalf of the community.

Your level of activity is totally up to you. There's about 50 people who lend a hand with various activities such as landcaring, hall maintenance, sub-committee projects, many of our members are silent supporters.

Hall Hire

Progress Hall at 197 Skye Point Rd is a community owned hall available for hire to Progress members. You can become a member at the time of booking.

Progress Hall contains a kitchen, tables and seating for 100 as well as a stage, 2 pianos and toilets.
