Just Judes gets a Makeover

We would like to give a huge shout out to a long-standing member of the community, CPPA supporter, the Prima Donna of Perms, the Queen of Quiff; Judy MacDonald.

She’s brought such colour to so many family’s follicles for 28 years and we hope you join us as we say thank you for all you’ve done as she takes a step back from the mirror.

Fear not petitioners of pompadours! You will still be able to get your magnificent mane moulded by the spectacular Sonya; whom I am sure you would have seen performing perfect artistry of the mop-top mastery.

The name Just Judes is getting the chop, though you will still be able to see Jude if you slide into the chair on a Friday.

The new Carey Bay Hair Art crew look forward to continuing to support the community and will be at the same place in the Carey Bay Shopping Village.

The Carey Bay Hair Art team is also looking for another connoisseur of cuts to help out part-time. So, if you’re interested in becoming part of the team, come on down to Carey Bay Hair Art and say hello.

MYSTERY MEDAL AT JUST JUDES

Jude McDonald owner operator of Just Jude’s Hairdressing Carey Bay has been a collector of old clothing, sewing machines, laces, jewellery etc for many years.  Her clients have given her beautiful items one dated from 1887 being a Treadle Singer Sewing machine.

Jude was going through the jewellery donated, she found a medal that was given to the women of Australia who had family serving in the Second World War.
The medal, pictured, has a bar attached and the stars attached to the bar represent the number of family members serving.

Jude believes this medal should be with the family it was given to, she did a search and found the medal was awarded to the wife of Lieutenant J A Riley of 31 Sackville Street Fairfield.

Now the story becomes more interesting, Jude’s husband James McDonald grew up in Sackville Street Fairfield and the Riley family were neighbours of McDonald family.
They are JACK & INA RILEY who had 4 children.

If you are one of the above or a relative of the Riley family please contact Jude at her salon on 49592926 so she may be able to return the medal to its owners.

Just Jude Celebrating 19 Years

Jude McDonald started working at 'Just Judes' Hair Salon on the 13th December 1991.

“The past 19 years have been a huge pleasure for me, I've seen children grow from babies to young adults, formed life long friendships with my clients and sadly lost some dear friends along the way.” Jude said

Jude doesn't think she'll be working for another 19 years but for the time being she is still celebrating.

Congratulations Jude and thank you for being such a wonderful support  in the community.
