Annual General Meeting of the Coal Point Progress Association, Neighbourhood Watch and Landcare Inc.

Once a year an event happens that provides the opportunity to reflect on all that has been, cogitate on the year ahead and secure willing hands, accompanied by willing heads to sit on the local Progress Committee...The Annual General Meeting.

This year the AGM will be held on Monday 11th March, yes next week, between 4-5pm at Progress Hall. Followed by a shorter March monthly meeting so newcommers can get a flavour for the Committee.

The Progress Association has several feathers in its cap as well as a few strings on its bow. Current major projects include the Threatened Species Last Stand on the Coal Point peninsula projects and maintaining Progress Hall (which the Progress Association owns).

If you have ever wanted to give your bit back to the community the Progress Association is willing to receive it.

Nominations will be taken from the floor at the meeting, if you can’t make it but are keen to contribute contact Suzanne, Barbara or John...contact details are on the back page.

The Committee can accommodate upto 11 people including the Executive and there is certainly room  for newly interested folk as we farewell and thank two long standing Committee members Jean Austen and John Greenhalgh.

Jean and John are both long term residents of Coal Point, almost 100 years between them, and this connection with the community provided the Association with a unique perspective and rare insights.

Jean’s passion for bush poetry overflowed in organising several fabulous community socials,

John’s love of landcare saw the local bushland benefit and Clean Up Australia Day regularly held.

Sincere thanks to John & Jean for giving so generously of their time.

Who will fill the void?
